The website is created by mr pa Landing.w. colley the group scout Leader of 1^st SUKUTA SCOUTS GROUP. A group in the Gambia west Africa we are an active scout group far back the year (2000).upto date an the group have a membership of about 46 scouts ranging from ( Beavers ,cub scouts ventures and explorers scouts). As a group we have develop from the start of our scouting activities presently we acquired a plot of land from our community this said piece of land is to be used as a scout based an also an activity center for the entire community scouts around our area. We as a group will need the support of other scouts group outside the Gambia. This is through a twinning or linking us a scouts friends and partners to any other group interested so far this is all about exchanging ideas and teaching each other about scouting in all aspects.

Remember the ( 100 years of scouting ) . Which was just recently celebrated in the u.k.

The theme of the celebration is one world one promise and as a scouter we should remember the words of the founder Lord Robert Stephenson Borden Powell. Who mention that in scouting you must try to leave the world a little bit better than you find it

As the group scout leader I would appreciate all fellow scouts who have the interest to assist our group in the Gambia and feel free to contact me for more information the photo on top is my personal self in the uniform of scouting and the other two photos are people who once came across the group in the gambia during their personal visit to the Gambia.

THE ACTIVITIES OF 1^ST SUKUTA SCOUTS GROUP: since the formation of this group we are part of a district and the members are always ready to render their their community services to villages and people within our area in terms of cleaning exercise and we do also send our members to scout training which also have given members to be active member eg.the basic scouts leaders training certificate was attended by ( 8 scouts). In the year of 2005 and in the summer of 2006 another ( 7 scouts ) Have acquired their

Training in playing instrument in the national scouts band we have the intension in the near feature to create our own scouts marching band the plot of land acquired will be upgraded with structures of building a scout headquarters where our weekly meetings will be conducted .This space is measured 60m²x 60m²

This piece of land is not an individual land it belong to the group scouts and the alkalo of the community have the willingness to approve the ownership of the space to the scouts

THE FIRST PROJECT WORK IS TO BUILD A TWO CLASSROOM WITH AN OFFICE As of now we intend to create a two classroom an office for the village children to use as a learning center we are using the locally available resource within our reached.
